Our History

A longtime dream and goal of the Holy Trinity community was a new school. In the Spring of 2014, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church opened a brand new school to serve the children and families of Gainesville. The school accommodates 120 children on one campus and contains a dedicated Chapel. The school also provides a safe, loving and high quality learning and faith based environment. The school has been in operation since the early 1970s.

In June 2011, the Board of the Holy Trinity Child Caring Center held a retreat to imagine what our school should look like in the years ahead. From that retreat many ideas and visions were shared such as:

  • Own a building that would accommodate all of our children in one location.
  • Provide a safe, loving and high-quality learning-based and faith-based environment.
  • Change our name to reflect that we are truly a school and not just a child care center.
  • Cultivate a closer relationship with Holy Trinity Church and clergy to provide Chapel on a weekly basis for the children who are old enough to attend.

Thanks to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church’s Capital Campaign and the generosity of church members and friends, the dream is now a reality!

On December 31, 2012 our new identity became Holy Trinity Episcopal School of Gainesville, Inc. On September 5, 2013, we broke ground on the construction project to completely renovate our building on North Main Street. In April of 2014, the school moved into their new and current facility.

We are NAEYC accredited (National Association for Education of Young Children), and we are also members of NAES (National Association of Episcopal Schools).
